Dimensions: 52 cm (20.47 inches) in diameter, 2850 g in weight, 15th century. Condition and Provenance: This round plate has several ancient cracks, some fragments are preserved, and no material is missing. A Dharma wheel motif is engraved in the center, surrounded by eight auspicious symbols. The cloud patterns and deity images on the outer ring are largely legible. The plate has a natural, rustic patina, with some engraved lines worn and faded due to age. The rim shows signs of wear from long-term use. Original hammering marks are visible on the back. There are no modern additions or later welding repairs. This plate is from a private collection in Portland, Oregon, USA, acquired in 2016 with the assistance of an antique dealer in Bangkok. The collection archives and original multi-angle photographs are well preserved. Description: This 15th-century round bronze-based seal, decorated with a Dharma wheel and eight auspicious symbols, is an original consecration seal for a large Tibetan Buddhist statue, forged from thick copper sheets. Its design is radial, with a Dharma wheel at the center surrounded by the Eight Auspicious Symbols, and the outer edge decorated with cloud patterns and images of deities, all rendered with smooth and delicate lines. This seal was used in Buddhist image blessing ceremonies as a seal on the bottom of the image. Despite several ancient cracks, the core religious image remains intact. It is an important artifact for studying the 15th-century Tibetan Buddhist auspicious symbol system, copper hammer forging techniques, and Buddhist image blessing customs.
