The surface shows signs of age and use, adding to its antique charm. Provenance: Private collection, New York, USA. Description: This elegant scholar's brush pot is a prime example of Chinese literati porcelain, featuring classic Ge-style crackle glaze and underglaze blue calligraphy. Measuring 8 cm in diameter and 12 cm in height, the base bears the mark "Ya Yu Tang," reflecting the refined taste of a traditional Chinese scholar's study. The brush pot is a slightly tapering cylinder with a slightly flared rim, a full body, and a flat, stable base. The rim and foot are glazed in brown, adhering to the traditional aesthetics of Ge ware. The entire piece is covered in an ivory-colored imitation Ge-ware glaze, with naturally flowing gold and black crackle patterns, giving it an overall antique and elegant charm. The body is decorated with an excerpt from Wang Xizhi's famous work, "Lanting Xu," written in beautiful cursive script. The inner wall continues the crackle glaze effect, maintaining consistency between the inside and outside. The bottom reveals a mature, dark body, engraved with the four-character seal script mark "Ya Yu Tang Zhi," showing signs of age and use. This brush pot combines Ge-ware glaze, blue-and-white artistic decoration, iron-red seal script, and a literati mark, embodying the refined aesthetics of Chinese literati culture. It is both a practical writing tool and an elegant display piece, perfectly combining ceramic craftsmanship and classical calligraphy, making it highly collectible.
