Dimensions: 36.5 cm (14.4 inches) in diameter, 6 cm (2.4 inches) in height, late 17th-early 18th century, Kangxi period. Condition and Provenance: Excellent condition, in perfect condition. Provenance: Private collection in New York, USA, held for many years by a renowned American collector family specializing in Chinese porcelain. Description: This large Kangxi-era blue and white porcelain plate showcases the refined taste and exquisite craftsmanship of Qing dynasty court porcelain. The plate is broad and shallow, with a finely carved rim and a thick foot, reflecting the balanced proportions favored in official Kangxi-era porcelain production. The smooth, bright white glaze highlights the deep cobalt blue decoration, creating an elegant and distinctive piece. The exterior is decorated with four auspicious "Three Abundances" motifs, including pomegranates, peaches, and flowers, symbolizing good fortune, longevity, and wealth. The interior of the vessel depicts a magnificent scene of literati gathering in a bamboo grove. Layered mountains, towering trees, and dense bamboo forests combine to create an elegant landscape. More than ten figures are interspersed throughout the scene, some chatting and laughing, others admiring paintings and artifacts, and still others playing musical instruments, fully enjoying the refined atmosphere of a scholarly gathering. The artist employed the famous "five-color ink" cobalt blue technique of the Kangxi period, creating a rich visual effect through variations in the depth of cobalt blue. The base bears a six-character mark in elegant regular script within a double circle: "Made in the Kangxi Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty."
