Description: This Qing Dynasty amber court necklace is a complete ceremonial necklace weighing 294 grams, representing the formal jewelry system worn by officials in royal ceremonies and court occasions. The necklace consists of 108 natural amber beads, each meticulously polished to a rounded, full honey-brown hue. The translucent amber reveals its natural internal texture, weathering marks, and the warm, antique surface formed over time. Each bead, approximately 3 centimeters in diameter, is uniform in size, smooth in surface, and features traditional drilled holes, showcasing its exquisite craftsmanship. The arrangement of the 108 beads follows the standard style of court necklaces, symbolizing the cycle of the seasons, months, and the traditional calendar. Four jade Buddha head spacer beads are evenly distributed throughout the necklace. The jadeite exhibits a rich green hue, with a delicate texture, creating an elegant contrast with the warm amber color. A 4.3-centimeter-wide jadeite cloud-patterned pendant hangs below the central tassel. The pendant is rounded and disc-shaped with smooth edges, connected by traditional blue-and-white woven patterns. The lower half of the necklace concludes with a jadeite gourd pendant, adding balance and auspicious symbolism. Three commemorative chains hang from either side of the necklace, each ending with a finely carved teardrop-shaped amethyst pendant. These transparent, light purple crystals retain their natural inclusions and are paired with small amber beads and traditional blue silk cords. Its exquisite craftsmanship embodies the superb skills of Qing Dynasty court jewelry, cleverly blending amber, jadeite, amethyst, and traditional textile techniques. Court necklaces were important ceremonial ornaments worn by Qing Dynasty officials during formal audiences and religious ceremonies. Amber was considered one of the seven treasures of Buddhism, while jadeite represented a precious royal material. This well-preserved and complete set of jewelry combines historical significance, ceremonial value, and exceptional gemstone craftsmanship, making it a coveted treasure for collectors.
