Carved from a single piece of hardwood using three-dimensional techniques, the sculpture retains its original paint, presenting a solemn and compassionate Buddhist image. The face displays classic Chinese Buddhist sculpture style, with a full and rounded face, slightly lowered eyes, and a serene expression, radiating an aura of compassion and tranquility. A lucky mark is carved on the forehead, and the long ears and exquisitely carved earrings further accentuate the figure's elegant charm. The exquisite crown is crafted through multiple layers of deep carving, centered on an image of the Buddha, surrounded by lotus, scrolling leaf, and auspicious cloud patterns. The raised decorations create a rich sense of depth and demonstrate superb craftsmanship. The hair is decorated with blue-green mineral pigments, preserving the original artistic characteristics of ancient Buddhist painted floral sculptures. The entire statue displays signs of natural aging, including fine cracks, faded pigments, and a mature patina. Guanyin Bodhisattva is one of the most important deities in Chinese Buddhism, and large wooden sculptures of this type are traditionally used in temples and religious sites. This exquisite carved and painted Buddha statue, combining superb wood carving techniques, ancient mineral pigments, and religious artistic significance, is an important piece for collectors of Chinese Buddhist art.
