Dimensions: Length 21 cm (8.3 inches), Height 11 cm (4.3 inches), Weight 356 grams, circa 19th-20th century. Condition and Provenance: Excellent overall condition, no obvious cracks or defects. The aged Yixing clay has a warm, smooth texture, the raised painted decorations are clearly visible, and the tin edging has developed a natural, aged silver-grey finish. The lid, spout, handle, and base inscription are all well-preserved. Provenance: Private collection, California, USA. It has been in private hands for many years and previously circulated in the Western art market. Description: This exquisite Yixing teapot is made of aged Yixing clay. The body is square, decorated with raised painted decorations and a tin edging. The knob is a realistic pomegranate motif. The body is upright and sturdy, with distinct edges, supported by four legs, giving it a stable and elegant appearance. A straight spout extends from one side of the body, while the other side features a hollowed-out ruyi-shaped handle, creating a beautiful contrast between the geometric structure and the flowing curves. The spout, corners, base, and base of the teapot are all adorned with delicate tin sheets, adding both decorative refinement and practical protection. A tin ring surrounds the lid, topped with a lifelike pomegranate-shaped knob, symbolizing abundance and wealth. The raised inscription on the lid contrasts sharply with the deep brown-purple body, showcasing the elegant taste of traditional Chinese literati. The aged purple clay is fine-textured and oily, with a rich color, and has developed a soft, natural patina over the years. The tin sheets have naturally oxidized to a light gray, blending harmoniously with the surface of the teapot.
