Description: This Yue ware celadon incense burner is a rare, large-scale ceramic masterpiece in the shape of a dragon, combining sculptural form, appliqué decoration, carved details, pointillism, and celadon glaze techniques. The piece consists of a stand, a double lotus base, a coiled dragon sculpture, and an incense cup held in the dragon's claws. The structure is exquisitely balanced, with a wide, shallow tray supporting a layered lotus base with raised, rounded, and full petals. A majestic dragon stands proudly atop a lotus pedestal in an elegant S-shaped posture, its forepaws cradling a flower-shaped incense cup. The dynamic form combines ceremonial function with artistic beauty. The dragon's head is lifelike, with towering horns, piercing eyes, an outward-spreading mouth, and flowing, graceful mane—all meticulously carved. Its limbs grip the lotus pedestal tightly, and its curled tail feathers add to its dynamism. The double-layered lotus pedestal employs a relief molding technique, with overlapping petals and full, rounded stamens, showcasing classic decorative language of early Chinese celadon. The body is covered in a soft Yue celadon glaze, exhibiting a pale grayish-green hue with a subtle, jade-like luster. The glaze has natural crackles and is adorned with touches of dark green. The exposed portions reveal a thick, gray porcelain body, its surface bearing the marks of time and possessing an antique texture. This exquisite incense burner sculpture cleverly blends three-dimensional form and ceramic decoration, demonstrating the superb craftsmanship of early Yue kilns. The dragon symbolizes auspicious power, while the lotus represents purity and spiritual cultivation. This outstanding incense burner sculpture embodies the fusion of ancient ceramic art, incense culture, and sculptural craftsmanship, making it a museum-quality decorative piece with immense collectible value.
