Measuring 39 cm high and 30 cm wide, it embodies the classic taste of Chinese scholar's objects and elegant interior decoration. The stone is a deep gray-black, with a naturally weathered surface; organic cracks and light-colored veins add to its antique charm. The overall shape is dynamic, with multiple peaks and branches, extending upwards and outwards. Naturally formed holes create a sense of transparency, achieving a balance between solidity and void, reflecting the traditional aesthetics of Taihu stone: "delicate, open, perforated, and textured." The stone surface, untouched by human carving, displays naturally formed folds, rugged contours, and rich textures, showcasing the wonders of nature. The meticulously carved wooden base features layered, tiered contours, a smooth, polished surface, and a deep red color. The base firmly supports the stone, complementing its natural contours and creating a harmonious, elegant scene reminiscent of a scholar's study. Taihu stone has long been considered one of the four most famous stones for Chinese literati. Highly regarded for its exquisite natural forms, this piece evokes distant mountains and rivers, bringing the beauty of nature into a scholar's study or refined residence. It is an outstanding representative of traditional Chinese literati taste and highly collectible decorative art.
