拍品描述

Dimensions: 32.5 cm (12.8 in. 1.07 ft) in diameter, 30.2 cm (11.9 in. 0.99 ft) in height; 18th-century Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period lacquerware scholar's object. Condition and Provenance: Excellent overall condition. The cylindrical wooden body is intact, without any obvious cracks or defects. The lacquer surface shows rich signs of age, and the gold-painted garden scene is well-preserved, with only natural wear consistent with the era. The base retains signs of age, including cracks, surface wear, and areas revealing the original red lacquer layer and wood grain. Provenance: Private collection, California, USA. Description: This large black lacquer brush pot with gold painting embodies the elegant taste and exquisite lacquerware craftsmanship of Qing Dynasty scholar's objects. Made of solid wood, it is a tall, cylindrical piece with a slightly tapering waist and a wide, rounded rim, exhibiting a robust structure. The entire piece is covered with multiple layers of deep black lacquer, exuding a noble and elegant air. The interior walls remain a plain black lacquer, while the exterior is adorned with exquisite gold paint, depicting a continuous panoramic view of the garden. Soft mineral tones are used to outline the details of rocks, trees, and architecture. Scholars, elegant attendants, and graceful figures are depicted conversing, reading, strolling along the water's edge, or gathering in pavilions and towers, each displaying their unique talents. The figures are outlined with delicate gold lines, their clothing elegant, and their postures lifelike. The exquisite architectural composition and masterful gold painting techniques showcase the exceptional talent of Qing Dynasty lacquer artists. The unmarked, flat bottom retains the natural marks of time; some lacquer layers have peeled off, revealing the underlying red lacquer and wooden structure, exhibiting cracks and wear signs of age. This brush pot, with its grand design and exquisite decoration, is not only practical, capable of holding large brushes and scrolls, but also an elegant interior decoration. It is a fine example of Qing Dynasty black lacquer and gold-painted scholar's objects, highly sought after by collectors of Chinese decorative arts.
