Description: This screen is a top-tier decorative art piece from the Qing Dynasty, in the imperial style, consisting of a solid carved rosewood base and a large spinach jade screen. The base is crafted from high-quality aged rosewood, with continuous intertwined dragon scroll reliefs on the skirt panels, base beams, and pillars. Every carved line is clear and smooth, with layered moldings at the waist and hem. Animal heads are carved atop the side pillars, supporting the jade frame. The wood displays a deep, lustrous patina, highlighting the natural grain of the precious rosewood. The main inlay panel is carved from a single piece of fine-grained, dense spinach jade, its natural deep green veins forming a lush landscape backdrop. The craftsmen used dozens of rare materials, including agate, mother-of-pearl, soapstone, coral, ivory, and jade of various colors, to carve and inlay a complete narrative scene themed around the elephant of peace. At the center of the scene, a majestic elephant adorned with jeweled armor and bridle carries a precious vase filled with ruyi scepters, feather ornaments, and ceremonial arrows—a symbol of peace and national prosperity. The surrounding scenery is vivid, and the figures are lifelike: farm children, hardworking farmers, and young scholars enjoying the view, all complemented by plum blossoms, blooming lotus flowers, uniquely textured rocks, and drifting clouds. Several bats fly across the sky, symbolizing good fortune. Every detail is meticulously crafted: the figures possess rich facial expressions, the drapery flows gracefully, the elephant hide texture is lifelike, and the floral veins are delicate. The floating clouds are outlined with hand-applied gold powder, further enhancing the imperial grandeur. This artwork blends three of China's most exquisite crafts: wood carving, jade carving, and inlay, making it a truly magnificent scholar's desk ornament. In excellent condition, with intact inlays and undamaged wood, such a piece is extremely rare in the antique market.
