拍品描述
Dimensions: 38.2 cm (15.04 inches) long, 18.5 cm (7.28 inches) wide, 3.1 kg in weight. Condition and Provenance: The slab is intact. All patterns are natural mineral dendritic deposits, unpainted or dyed; only fine natural stone veins, no defects or missing patterns. The yellow, brown, and dark black dendritic patterns are naturally formed, with distinct layers and depth. Comes with the original dark solid wood display frame. The frame's varnish is intact, with slight signs of age on the edges, no cracks or paint peeling. Originally from a Chinese stone appreciation museum, it was exported overseas in 2010 and is now owned by a private collector of ornamental stones in Miami, Florida, USA. This piece belongs to the miscellaneous antiques category, primarily circulating in the New York market. Description: This piece is a traditional Chinese natural ornamental stone with natural dendritic landscape patterns, a classic oriental treasure for decorating a study or living space. Over millions of years, mineral fluids have seeped into the rock matrix, forming a complete natural landscape on the slab. Its composition is distinctly layered: the light gray stone layers at the top resemble hazy clouds, the soft light yellow stone layers in the middle ground form a flat plain, while the dense golden-brown and black dendritic mineral deposits at the bottom outline undulating mountains. Natural fern-like mineral textures cover the hills, symbolizing wild trees and shrubs, unprocessed and naturally grown, forming a complete and tranquil scroll of distant mountains, echoing the free and unrestrained style of classical Chinese ink wash landscape painting. The smooth and delicate surface of the stone, with its rich natural plant-like mineral textures, creates layered distant mountains, dense forests, and a vast sky, showcasing a magnificent and serene artistic conception. A custom-made solid wood frame perfectly complements the stone slab, making it an ideal wall decoration for reception halls, tea rooms, and Oriental art studies. With the increasing depletion of mineral resources, naturally textured ornamental stones are becoming increasingly rare. North American collectors of Oriental stone carving art particularly favor large stone slabs with complete and continuous mountain and sky patterns. It possesses dual collectible value: it is both an important geological specimen and embodies a profound cultural heritage of Chinese literati stone carving appreciation.
