Dimensions: Overall height 29 cm (11.42 inches), mouth diameter 4 cm (1.57 inches). Condition and Provenance: The piece is in perfect condition, without cracks, damage, or signs of later repairs. The rim, body, and foot are all in their original state. The cobalt blue pigment is rich and full, with the characteristic iron rust spots of Yuan dynasty porcelain. The glaze is glossy, exhibiting a natural, aged patina, without any later painted decoration. The unglazed, sandy foot displays the dry texture of ancient clay; the kiln sand and signs of age are naturally formed, without any artificial polishing or aging. This high-end antique porcelain piece originated from a private collection in China and entered the Chinese market in the 1990s. It is currently owned by a private collector of pre-Song dynasty porcelain residing in Hong Kong. Top-tier ancient Chinese porcelain is primarily traded in the Hong Kong and New York markets. Description: This Yuan dynasty blue and white plum vase is an outstanding example of early Chinese underglaze celadon. It follows the classic plum vase shape: a small mouth, short neck, full shoulders, and a tapering lower body. The decoration is divided into several horizontal layers. The shoulders are decorated with eight auspicious symbols surrounded by scrolling foliage. The central main decoration features the "Three Friends of Winter," depicting pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms, accompanied by birds flying among rocks and plants, with free and unrestrained brushstrokes and a rich and full composition. The lower part is decorated with stylized lotus petal patterns with clear and distinct lines. The cobalt blue pigment exhibits rich variations in tone and natural rust spots, a typical characteristic of Yuan dynasty porcelain using imported cobalt ore. The glaze is bluish-green, smooth and moist, while the sandy base glaze reveals the roughness of Yuan dynasty porcelain clay. Extant Yuan dynasty blue and white porcelain is extremely rare. This large plum vase with the "Three Friends of Winter" theme is an important exhibit-level antique, possessing significant research value in ceramic history and extremely high collection value, meeting the criteria for a museum-level special exhibition.
