Description: A magnificent gilded bronze Manjushri Bodhisattva triad, with exquisite halos and multi-tiered bases. The central Manjushri Bodhisattva sits on a double lotus pedestal, his chest in the teaching mudra, with swords and scrolls extending from lotuses on either side. A bodhisattva attendant stands on each lotus pedestal. The magnificent mandala Buddha image is exquisitely carved, decorated with scrolling foliage, mythical beasts, and Garuda at the top. The multi-layered Sumeru-shaped base is composed of supporting pillars, guardian lions, and vajra motifs. The front of the base is finely engraved with an inscription from the Yongle period. Manjushri Bodhisattva is a symbol of supreme wisdom in Tibetan Buddhism. The statue is enormous, with exquisite engraving and casting techniques; its overall design is a model of Sino-Tibetan Buddhist art.
