Dimensions: Jade thumb ring, outer diameter 3.4 cm (1.34 inches), height 2.6 cm (1.02 inches), net weight 38 grams, Qing Dynasty (1636-1912 AD). Condition and Provenance: This jade thumb ring is intact, without cracks, defects, or natural textures. Its color is a uniform emerald green with a bright luster. The ring walls are evenly polished, with smooth and glossy inner and outer surfaces, free from artificial dyeing or resin filling. The matching solid wood bell-shaped storage box is carved from a single piece of wood, with clear grain, tight mortise and tenon joints, and no cracks or damage. It has been preserved with the ring to this day and is the original set. This ring was once an antique collection of a prominent family in Jiangnan, and circulated overseas in the 1990s. It is now housed in a Qing Dynasty jade collection museum in New York, USA. New York and Texas were key hubs for the global jade trade during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Description: This top-grade imperial green jade arrow ring is a prestigious ornament worn by the elite class of the Qing Dynasty. Originally made as protective gear for archery, the ring gradually evolved into a fashionable accessory for nobles and royalty during the Qing Dynasty. This particular ring is carved from a single piece of high-quality emerald green jadeite, its surface untouched, perfectly showcasing the jadeite's natural, rich imperial green hue. The jadeite's color is even and full, possessing a strong jade-like luster, with very few cotton-like impurities and a faint fluorescence. Its standard cylindrical proportions and smooth, rounded curves ensure comfortable wear. The matching bell-shaped wooden ring box, crafted from a single piece of hardwood, is an elegant container specifically designed for storing and protecting the ring; complete original ring boxes are extremely rare. Raw Qing Dynasty emerald green jadeite was extremely scarce, making high-quality, unadorned green jadeite a luxurious accessory for the upper class. This jadeite piece possesses value for wearing, appreciation, and investment, and the complete set with its original antique wooden box is a highly coveted collectible for North American collectors of Qing Dynasty jadeite.
