Provenance: Private collection, California, USA. Description: This Longquan celadon double-eared ewer is classic in shape, elegant in proportion, and exquisite in craftsmanship. Measuring 12 cm in height and 13 cm at its widest point, it was originally used for holding tea, wine, or water, showcasing the unique artistic style of Longquan porcelain from the Song and early Yuan dynasties. The ewer has rounded, full shoulders, a slightly narrower lower body, and a stable foot. A curved tubular spout is located on one side of the body, while a rounded handle is securely attached to the body on the other. A pair of bridge-shaped ears on the shoulders facilitate carrying or hanging, combining practicality and aesthetics. The teapot is carved with vertical lotus petal patterns, a signature decorative motif of Longquan ware. Each petal is meticulously sculpted, creating a strong sense of three-dimensionality and dynamism. The entire teapot is covered in a soft, translucent celadon glaze, presenting an elegant light green tone.
