Description: This pair of exquisite blue and white porcelain vases dates back to the Yuan Dynasty in the 14th century and was made specifically for display in important temples. Each vase features a flared rim, a long neck with paired elephant-head handles, a rounded oval body, and a wide, flared base. The mouth is decorated with a scrolling floral pattern. The neck is divided by a banana leaf pattern and a phoenix pattern, with the phoenix soaring amidst swirling clouds, its posture vivid. The shoulder is encircled by blooming lotus flowers. The main body of the vase is dominated by a powerful cloud and dragon pattern. This mighty dragon, with its muscular body, flowing mane, and sharp claws, moves freely among layers of clouds. Below the dragon is a pattern of turbulent waves. The base is decorated with auspicious patterns such as peonies, treasures, and flames. All the decorations are clearly layered and exquisitely arranged. The porcelain piece uses cobalt blue pigment as a base, presenting a rich and full hue, with iron-rust spots characteristic of imported cobalt ore, which contrast beautifully with the soft blue-white glaze. The interior surface shows signs of ancient firing and long-term use. The exposed foot rim reveals a thick earthenware body with clearly visible wheel-carving marks and a natural patina. The matching Yuan dynasty blue-and-white elephant-ear vase is extremely rare. This porcelain piece is a masterpiece of Chinese porcelain with immense artistic and collectible value.
