拍品描述

Dimensions: Height 10.5 cm (4.13 inches), Weight 187 g, 17th-19th century. Condition and Provenance: This jade jar is carved from a single piece of Hetian jade, with the body and foot formed as one piece. The side-opening niche is well-preserved. Small holes for ancient fixing are distributed around the mouth and foot. The natural light brown texture of the jade is clearly visible, without any through cracks. The surface shows soft signs of age. The interior carving is even. There are no signs of modern cutting, dyeing, or repair; the original carving patterns and surface patina are completely preserved. This jade jar was originally owned by a private collector in Los Angeles, California, USA, and entered North America in the 1960s, later being collected by a Qing Dynasty imperial jade expert. This piece has always been kept in a temperature- and humidity-controlled display case and has never been auctioned or publicly exhibited. Description: This Qing Dynasty Hetian light blue jade Buddha niche-shaped jar is hollowed out and polished from a block of high-quality blue jade. The body is round and full, with a short, straight neck, a narrow mouth, a gradually tapering lower belly, and an outward-flaring foot. Its hollowing technique is exquisite. This precious piece combines the functions of a jade artifact and a miniature Buddhist shrine. It is a typical sacrificial object in the residence of Qing Dynasty literati, reflecting the superb jade carving craftsmanship of the time, and has extremely high art historical value and collection value.
