Description: This Yuan Dynasty blue and white dragon-patterned Yuhuchun vase is a representative work of Yuan Dynasty decorative porcelain. The vase follows the classic Yuhuchun shape, with an everted mouth, slender neck, drooping belly, and everted foot rim, giving it a soft and full overall shape. The entire body is covered with a light blue-white glaze with a bright luster. The main decoration on the vase is a striding dragon. The majestic dragon stands tall, its mane flowing, its body covered in scales, its limbs strong and powerful, its claws sharp, surrounded by flames and cloud patterns. The brushstrokes are unrestrained and free-flowing, the composition expansive, with the dragon the visual focal point, devoid of superfluous embellishments. The unglazed foot rim exhibits typical characteristics of Yuan dynasty blue and white porcelain, with rust spots and traces of time dotting the milky white clay. The cobalt blue pigment displays varying shades of blue, with sunken dark spots and natural smudging, a hallmark of Yuan dynasty blue and white porcelain. In the Yuan dynasty, the dragon motif symbolized nobility and auspiciousness. Extant Yuan dynasty dragon-patterned jade pots are extremely rare. This well-preserved jade pot rim, with its glaze, painting, and foot rim all exhibiting typical characteristics of Yuan dynasty blue and white porcelain, is a highly collectible piece of Yuan dynasty blue and white porcelain.
