Description: This Hongshan Culture pottery head, hand-sculpted from coarse clay, is large in size, with a low forehead, protruding eyes, a prominent nose, a hollow mouth, and protruding ears with primitive perforations. Its style is simple and rugged, with a solemn and mysterious expression. It is a rare large pottery head from the Hongshan Culture, showcasing the primitive religious beliefs and sculpting techniques of the Neolithic people in northern China. The surface is covered with a thick layer of weathering and burial crust, reflecting the primitive direct molding technique. It is an important material specimen for studying ancestor worship and figurative art production techniques in the Hongshan Culture, possessing extremely high archaeological and collectible value.
