Description: This blue-and-white porcelain boat sculpture is an extremely rare molded ceramic work from the Yuan dynasty. Its shape imitates a traditional Chinese inland river passenger boat. The hull features several pavilions with latticed railings, arched doorways, and small boatwoman figurines, presenting a rich, three-dimensional structure with meticulous attention to detail. The hull of the ship is entirely painted with a cobalt blue mandarin duck and lotus pond motif, depicting swimming mandarin ducks, blooming lotus flowers, and winding branches and leaves. The cobalt blue pigment displays varying shades and features the rust spots characteristic of Yuan dynasty blue and white porcelain. Its flat bottom is an unglazed sandy base, and the rough yellow earthenware body faithfully reflects the characteristics of Yuan dynasty ceramics production. This exquisite piece skillfully blends ceramic sculpture and blue and white painted art. Complete Yuan dynasty porcelain figure sculptures are uncommon, and ship-shaped works are extremely rare. It vividly reflects the water transport culture of southern China during the Yuan dynasty. It is ideal for display in a scholar's studio and serves as a valuable material reference for studying Yuan dynasty shipbuilding, painting, and porcelain-making techniques, possessing high collection and academic value.
