拍品描述

Dimensions: The teapot measures 19 cm (7.48 inches) in length and 5.3 cm (2.09 inches) in height. A contemporary Chinese literati-style Yixing clay teapot. Condition and Provenance: This teapot is handcrafted from special ancient bronze Yixing clay, exhibiting a uniform, mottled, yellowish-brown kiln-transformed patina. It is free of cracks, defects, dents, or signs of repair. The three-dimensional cicada-shaped knob on the lid is well-preserved; the bamboo carving on the lid is clear and fluid. The landscape, calligraphy, and seal carvings on the body are clear and of consistent depth. The bamboo-shaped spout and long handle carvings show no wear or damage. The two seals on the bottom of the lid are clearly identifiable, and the drainage hole at the bottom is clean and unobstructed. The surface of the teapot has only a light, natural tea-brewing patina, without any artificial chemical aging treatment. This Yixing teapot was made in 2021 from a Yixing workshop and later acquired by a private collector of Yixing clay teaware in Houston, Texas, USA. California, New York, and Texas are major markets for Ming and Qing dynasty Yixing clay teaware in the United States. Description: This modern flat-handled Yixing teapot is crafted from bronze-colored clay. The lid is adorned with a cicada-shaped knob and bamboo carvings, exuding elegance and unique charm, full of traditional Chinese artistic flair. It features a classic flat-handled design with a shallow, wide body, complemented by an extended, horizontally carved handle and a short, bamboo-shaped spout, offering a comfortable grip and smooth pouring, suitable for everyday brewing. The lid is carved with a sparse bamboo grove scene, with upright branches and layered leaves, lifelike and vivid. The knob is carved into a singing cicada, symbolizing good fortune and success, with a realistic and rounded shape. One side of the teapot is intricately carved with a light landscape painting, depicting distant mountains and a tranquil riverbank. The other side is engraved with the poem: "Three lifetimes of peach blossoms bloom, ten miles of peach blossoms bloom, ten miles of peach blossoms bloom, fragrance wafts near," next to which is a square seal, seamlessly integrating poetry, painting, calligraphy, and seal carving, perfectly inheriting the timeless aesthetics of literati Yixing teapots. The precious bronze-colored clay, fired at high temperatures, presents a mottled texture of interwoven gold and brown hues, reminiscent of the rustic, aged marks of ancient bronzes. The surface of the teapot displays fine sand particles, ensuring excellent breathability, making it ideal for brewing tea. Two workshop seals are engraved on the bottom inside the lid, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship. The side handle design is convenient for everyday tea brewing and easy to place on a tea table. This handcrafted Yixing teapot, with its exquisite hand-carved patterns and unique kiln-fired natural clay texture, is considered one of the finest contemporary works of art. It is highly sought after by overseas collectors of Chinese tea and enthusiasts of Oriental art in the United States, and is an outstanding collectible that combines practicality and aesthetics in a traditional Chinese tea room.
