Dimensions: 9 cm in diameter, 5.2 cm in height, a pair. Condition and Provenance: Both teacups are in excellent condition, with no minor cracks, damage, or missing parts on the rim, body, or foot. All original glazes are intact, displaying naturally formed age-related cracks, with clearly visible golden-brown cracks. The brown hues on the rim and foot are characteristic of the original kiln firing process, showing no signs of reglazing, polishing, repair, or artificial coloring. These teacups were originally a private collection in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. They were imported to North America in the 1980s through a Hong Kong antique dealer and have been treasured by a renowned collector of Song Dynasty ceramics there. Description: This pair of flower-shaped teacups is a superior example of Southern Song Dynasty Longquan celadon. Each piece is decorated with a wavy, petal-shaped rim, with vertically raised ribs extending down the body to the small foot, creating an elegant and refined overall silhouette. The entire body is covered with a clear, thick, milky-white, pinkish-blue-green celadon glaze. A dense network of natural crackles covers the interior and exterior of the vessel, with light gold and dark brown cracks interwoven to create a classic "golden thread and iron wire" visual effect. The glaze is thinner at the rim, appearing reddish-brown, while the foot rim is a deep iron-brown, a typical characteristic of Longquan official kiln imitations of official kiln aesthetics. The body is almost entirely glazed, with only tiny bare glaze spots at the foot rim. Such well-preserved pieces, especially those existing in pairs, are extremely rare.
