拍品描述
Dimensions: 89 cm high (including frame), 52.5 cm wide. Condition and Provenance: The porcelain plaque is intact, without cracks, hidden fissures, defects, or glaze loss. The underglaze blue and copper-red colors are well-preserved and stable. The heavy mahogany frame is original, with slight signs of age consistent with long-term display. There are no signs of later repairs, refiring, or repainting on the back of the plaque. This plaque comes from the collection of a Chinese family in Los Angeles, California, USA. This artwork was exported from Jingdezhen to overseas markets in the 1990s and was acquired by the collector as part of their Oriental decorative arts collection. Description: This decorative porcelain plaque is a fine modern Jingdezhen artwork, with a sturdy original mahogany frame and a metal hanging ring at the top for easy wall hanging. The piece centers on the classic auspicious motif "May you prosper year after year," using underglaze blue to depict lotus leaves, stems, aquatic plants, and swimming carp, while copper-red pigment is used to create blooming lotus flowers and buds. The striking blue-red contrast creates a powerful visual impact. The veins on the lotus leaves, the fine thorns on the lotus stems, and the scales and fins of the carp are all depicted with lifelike detail. The upper right corner bears the inscription "May you be prosperous year after year," along with a date and two red seals, seamlessly blending painting, calligraphy, and seal carving to showcase traditional Chinese aesthetics. The composition is balanced, with solid lines and negative space cleverly interwoven. The copper-red firing process is quite difficult, resulting in a stable and vibrant red hue, complemented by soft and varied blue hues. It is a high-quality modern porcelain decorative piece with auspicious connotations.
