Dimensions: 24.2 cm in diameter. Condition and Provenance: This display plate is in perfect condition, without any minor cracks, hidden fissures, defects, or glaze peeling. The underglaze blue and overglaze enamels are vibrant and rich in color. The light beige rim is intact, the base mark is clear, and the foot rim shows only slight signs of natural aging. There are no signs of later painting, polishing, repair, or refiring. This plate comes from a private collection in Manhattan's Upper East Side, New York. This porcelain piece was brought to the United States in the early 2000s by an Asian antique dealer and has been on long-term display in the collector's Chinese decorative arts collection. Description: This floral and bird-patterned display plate is a masterpiece of modern painted porcelain from Jingdezhen. The outer rim is decorated with a narrow strip of light beige glaze. The underglaze blue depicts winding branches, bunches of grapes, peonies, rocks, and grass. Two lifelike crested birds add to the charm. The overglaze enamels are delicate, embellished with a small red sun. The left side of the glaze bears a calligraphic inscription reading "Flowers and Birds Singing," along with a date mark and a red seal. The base is stamped with a blue-and-white seal script mark. The painting, calligraphy, and seal are perfectly integrated. The composition is balanced, with lush foliage, richly textured rockery, and lifelike birds. The underglaze blue displays rich tonal variations, while the overglaze enamels maintain an elegant harmony. The painting techniques inherit the aesthetic taste of classical Chinese literati flower-and-bird painting. This porcelain piece is suitable for both appreciation and collection; it is a highly expressive example of modern decorative porcelain.
