Description: This meiping vase, produced in the Jingdezhen kilns during the Yuan Dynasty, is a magnificent piece of blue-and-white porcelain. It features a small, rolled lip, short neck, broad and full shoulders, a tapering body, and an unglazed sandy base, typical of Yuan Dynasty meiping vase shapes. The shoulders are decorated with intricate lotus scroll patterns. The main subject depicts the famous "Three Friends of Winter" theme: a gnarled and vigorous pine trunk with clearly defined bark texture and dense pine needles; upright bamboo and sparse plum branches, complementing the artificial hill and green grass. Geometric brocade-patterned bands divide the painted area. The lower part is decorated with upward-curving lotus petal patterns containing cloud patterns, a typical decorative feature of the Yuan Dynasty. The imported cobalt blue glaze gives the surface a deep and rich blue color, with natural rust spots and a faint metallic luster. A thick bluish-white glaze covers the entire body. The coarse sandy base reveals the heavy body and rough finishing marks. The "Three Friends of Winter" symbolizes noble character. Among extant Yuan Dynasty blue and white plum vases, those with the "Three Friends of Winter" theme are extremely rare. This piece combines exquisite modeling, painting, and firing techniques, possessing significant artistic and historical research value.
