拍品描述

Dimensions: Height 30.5 cm. Condition and Provenance: Complete and intact, with no cracks or chips on the rim or body. Natural cobalt blue glaze with obvious signs of age. Unglazed sandy base, retaining the texture of ancient earth and natural patina, untouched by restoration or chemical cleaning; private collection in Hong Kong, acquired in the 1990s, a family heirloom, stored in a temperature-controlled warehouse, with no prior auction, exhibition, or publication record. Description: This Yuan dynasty plum vase has a small mouth, short neck, wide shoulders, a rounded upper body, and a tapering lower body. The unglazed sandy base is a typical Yuan dynasty shape. The body is decorated with underglaze blue in segmented patterns: scrolling foliage below the rim and scrolling floral patterns on the shoulders. The vase depicts a vivid lotus pond scene, with blooming lotuses, lush green leaves, verdant aquatic plants, and a pair of mandarin ducks playing in the water. The lower part is decorated with rhombus patterns, and the foot rim with inverted lotus petal cloud patterns. The underglaze blue varies in depth, revealing typical rust spots. The glaze is soft and lustrous. The exposed foot rim reveals the coarse, sandy clay characteristic of Yuan dynasty porcelain. The composition is compact and orderly, with fluid brushstrokes, symbolizing harmony and happiness; it is a masterpiece of Yuan dynasty blue and white porcelain.
