Harris of San Francisco, California, USA. This piece was acquired from an antique gallery in Paris in the 1980s and has remained in the family collection ever since. It has never been publicly auctioned, exhibited, or published. Description: This Qianlong imperial six-piece set consists of a central main vase and five conjoined smaller vases. Each neck is decorated with molded pink kui dragon handles. All rims are flared and gilded. The interior is covered entirely in a bright turquoise glaze. The exterior is a rich yellow base, decorated with dense scrolling brocade patterns, overlaid with famille rose scrolling floral designs, the petals and leaves richly colored. Each spherical body is framed by a square gilt frame containing multi-layered openwork landscapes, including rugged rocks, verdant pine trees, and drifting clouds. The pine needles, rock textures, and cloud shapes are all meticulously depicted, creating a rich, three-dimensional effect. The exterior is decorated with scrolling floral patterns. The neck is adorned with layered lotus petal patterns and meander patterns. The lower part concludes with famille rose lotus petal decoration, ending in a finely finished foot rim. The base is glazed in a bright green and bears a four-character underglaze blue mark reading "Made in the Qianlong Reign." This multi-part set of vases is an extremely rare and precious piece among Qing dynasty court decorative vessels, demonstrating exceptional skill in its production. It combines engraved brocade patterns, famille rose paintings, deep carving and openwork, and molded ears into one piece. Its exquisite and magnificent shape and superb craftsmanship make it an important court decoration during the Qianlong period.
