拍品描述
Dimensions: 31.8 cm high. Condition and Provenance: In perfect condition, without chips or cracks. The glaze shows natural signs of aging, and there is slight wear on the rim and foot. Originally from the private collection of Richard Hayes in San Francisco, California, USA. Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1980s, it is a family heirloom and has never been publicly auctioned, exhibited, or published. Description: A beautiful Yuan Dynasty Yuhuchun underglaze red pear-shaped vase. The vase has an elegant shape, with an everted mouth, a slender neck, a broad pear-shaped body, and an everted foot. It is covered with a smooth white glaze and decorated with copper-red underglaze colors, the colors blending naturally, exhibiting the subtle characteristics unique to early underglaze red porcelain. The neck is decorated with psyllable patterns, meander patterns, and scrolling leaf patterns. The body is painted with the "Three Friends of Winter": lush, gnarled pine trees, blooming plum blossoms, and upright bamboo, interspersed among decorative rockeries, rendered with free and flowing brushstrokes. The lower part of the bottle is decorated with lotus petal patterns containing floral designs, while the foot rim is adorned with scrolling foliage. The foot rim is neatly finished and bears the wear marks characteristic of Yuan dynasty porcelain. The copper-red firing technique of the Yuan dynasty was highly challenging, making well-preserved large copper-red porcelain pieces extremely rare. This bottle, symbolizing good fortune, is a representative work of Yuan dynasty porcelain craftsmanship.
