拍品描述

Dimensions:Diameter 14cm (5.51 in), Height 4cm (1.57 in), 13th‑14th Century A.D.Condition & Provenance:This integrated cup stand has no cracks or restorations, only minor age‑related wear along floral rim edges. Fine natural crackles spread all over the sky‑blue glaze. Thin glaze areas on rim and lobed edges reveal yellowish‑brown undertones. The unglazed foot ring is coated with brown slip, bearing ancient soil encrustation and kiln residue under smooth antique patina. Provenance: Private collection, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Acquired from an Asian antique gallery in Philadelphia in 1992, passed down within the family and never released onto auction markets.Description:This sky‑blue glazed lobed cup stand was fired at northern Jun kilns during Yuan dynasty, an elegant tea accessory created to hold tea bowls for Song‑Yuan tea ceremonies. The piece is fully integrally fired. Its outer rim is shaped as six‑lobed floral form with soft undulating edges. A raised circular central socket is built to secure the tea cup. The tray slopes gently outward from center toward lobed rim, supported by a wide sturdy foot ring, delivering an open silhouette with soft flowing lines. It is covered with classic thick Jun sky‑blue glaze, muted blue‑grey tone with rich subtle color variation. Fine pervasive crackles across glaze surface represent well‑known Jun kiln glaze character. Glaze thins along petal edges and socket rim, exposing warm brown‑yellow body underneath for striking visual contrast. The base is not fully glazed; outer foot is treated with dark‑brown protective slip. Coarse grey‑brown pottery clay is visible at unglazed areas, marked by kiln grit and ancient burial soil deposits, authentic signs of Yuan Jun excavation. Jun kilns stood among the most influential northern ceramic workshops during Jin‑Yuan times. Floral‑lobed cup stands are rarer than plain circular examples. This specimen is well‑formed and complete, endowed with calm soft sky‑blue glaze and untouched ancient patina. It offers direct insight into northern Yuan tea customs and carries great reference value for researching Jun kiln technology and ancient tea culture, qualifying as a highly collectible Yuan Jun tea ware.
