拍品描述

Dimensions:Mouth diameter 12.5cm (4.92 in), overall height 10.8cm (4.25 in), 13th‑14th Century A.D.Condition & Provenance:The bowl is fully intact without cracks, chips or restoration. The reddish‑brown iron‑spot splashes inside and outside remain well‑preserved with distinct color gradations. Glaze on the tall stem stays lustrous and complete. Soil patina and kiln grit on unglazed base are untouched without polishing. Only minimal age‑related wear visible along the rim. Provenance: Former private collection of a collector based in Miami, Florida. Acquired at Vancouver Asian Antique Fair in 2015, kept within one private family for more than thirty years. Displayed only for private themed exhibitions of Yuan Longquan celadon, never offered in public auctions.Description:This splashed‑color celadon stem bowl is a distinctive drinking vessel from Yuan‑period Longquan kilns, widely used at feasting occasions. Its tall stem design allows convenient hand‑holding, reflecting cultural influences from nomadic traditions. It features flared rim, deep plump bowl body, supported by an upright well‑proportioned waisted stem ending with unglazed foot base. The overall silhouette is solemn and stable. Thick plum‑green celadon glaze uniformly covers interior and exterior surfaces, delivering strong jade‑like tactile quality. Clustered three‑petal plum‑blossom‑shaped iron‑oxide splashes scatter across inner cavity and outer wall. Each spot bears near‑black center gradually fading into reddish‑brown outer halo in free spontaneous fashion. Such splashed iron‑color ornament is relatively rare among Longquan productions. The unglazed foot base reveals robust ceramic body with original stacking firing marks and burial soil encrustation, matching excavated Yuan‑period shards from the Dayao Longquan kiln site in Zhejiang Province. While ordinary Longquan stem wares are relatively common, intact examples retaining full original splashed iron‑color decoration are quite uncommon. This stem bowl owns regular grand shape, thick mild plum‑green glaze, naturally diffused iron spots, and fully preserved original kiln traces at base. In excellent condition, it serves as tangible evidence of multi‑cultural integration during Yuan era, and makes a wonderful decorative piece. It is highly sought after by celadon collectors across Southeast United States and Southeast Asia, carrying remarkable academic, aesthetic and collectible value.
