拍品描述

Dimensions:Brown‑glazed tea bowl: mouth diameter 8.7cm (3.43 in), height 6cm (2.36 in); Jun‑yao lamp bowl: mouth diameter 8.4cm (3.31 in), height 3.3cm (1.30 in), 12th‑14th Century A.D.Condition & Provenance:Both pieces of this group are fully preserved, free of penetrating cracks, major chips or later restoration. The Jun‑yao lamp bowl features natural original crackle glaze, well‑retained purple kiln‑change splash inside, complete base spur‑mark residues and untouched ancient burial patina. The brown‑glazed tea bowl keeps intact glaze, clear sandy base and impressed mark, only minor age‑related surface wear, no artificial polishing or cleaning. Provenance: Former private collection of a Hong‑Kong‑based early‑ceramics connoisseur. Acquired at Toronto Asian Antique Art Fair in 2016, passed down overseas within one family for over thirty years. This group was only exhibited in private thematic shows of northern Chinese ancient ceramics and has never been offered in public auction.Description:This assembled group of northern Chinese ceramics from Jin‑Yuan period consists of one Jun‑yao sky‑blue lamp bowl with purple splash and one folk‑use brown‑glazed coarse‑clay tea bowl. They represent two major branches of northern ceramic art: Jun‑yao kiln‑change aesthetics and down‑to‑earth folk pottery, revealing diversified features of Jin‑Yuan craft culture. The Jun‑yao lamp bowl takes shallow bowl form with a central hollow upright pillar inside for wick placement. It is covered with classic milky sky‑blue Jun glaze with dense natural crackle. A magnificent rose‑purple kiln‑splash blushes on inner wall, blending red, purple, blue and green tones, the signature unpredictable kiln‑change effect of Jun ware. Three distinct firing spur marks are visible on base with thick lustrous glaze and subtle soft luster. The deep‑bellied brown‑glazed tea bowl is fully coated with deep russet‑brown glaze for daily tea drinking. Lower body and foot expose gritty sandy clay mixed with fine black speckles, impressed mark remains on base interior, wheel‑throwing spiral lines can be seen inside the bowl. Lamp bowls of Jun‑yao from Jin‑Yuan are relatively scarce, intact specimens with vivid purple splashes are even rarer. Surviving together with a contemporary folk tea bowl, they offer direct insight into ancient daily life of lighting and tea consumption. This group presents totally different glaze characters: brilliant kiln‑transformation of Jun glaze versus rugged primitive charm of coarse folk pottery. All‑original patina and soil encrustation remain undisturbed. They serve as precious physical materials for researching northern folk life and ceramic technology of Jin‑Yuan era, holding decorative, ethnographic‑research and antique‑collecting value, highly valued by early‑ceramic collectors from Hong Kong, Pennsylvania USA and Southeast Asia.
