拍品描述

Dimensions:Mouth diameter 17.6cm (6.93 in), height 3.2cm (1.26 in), 13th‑17th Century A.D.Condition & Provenance:The washer is structurally intact, free of penetrating cracks, holes or modern restoration. Fine natural crackle spreads all over the glaze. Minor age‑related glaze chipping occurs on rim and edges. Original firing spur marks on base are distinct with untouched burial patina, no artificial polishing or acid treatment. Provenance: Former private collection of a Hong‑Kong‑based medieval celadon connoisseur. Acquired at Vancouver Asian Antique Fair in 2013, passed down overseas within one family for more than thirty years. This piece was only displayed in private thematic exhibitions for Yuan‑Ming Longquan wares and has never been offered in public auction.Description:This floral‑rim washer was fired at Longquan kilns during Yuan‑Ming dynasties. It functioned as a scholar‑studio brush washer or decorative fruit tray. The lobed floral rim undulates following petal contours, with shallow body whose walls gently rise along the lobes, supported by matching flower‑shaped foot. The whole silhouette is soft and elegant. Thick classic Longquan celadon glaze coats interior and exterior, presenting velvety texture covered with fine spontaneous crackle across every surface with restrained soft luster. The unadorned central interior emphasizes the jade‑like quality of celadon glaze. Several tiny firing spur marks scatter on fully‑glazed base, testifying original firing process. Longquan kilns produced large quantities of floral‑form washers in Yuan‑Ming times. The lobed shape inherited Song‑dynasty organic aesthetic, integrating floral motifs into ceramic design. Well‑proportioned form, even glaze tone and authentic crackle with undisturbed ancient patina make this washer a valuable physical reference for studying Longquan craftsmanship and scholar‑studio culture. It holds great value for desk display, academic research and antique‑collecting, widely appreciated by Longquan‑ware collectors from Hong Kong, Florida USA and Southeast Asia.
