Dimensions:Belly diameter 6.2cm (2.44 in), overall height 10.5cm (4.13 in), 10th‑13th Century A.D.Condition & Provenance:The vase retains its original matching lid, fully intact without cracks, chips or restoration. Soft translucent yingqing glaze remains well preserved. Raised lotus‑petal relief is sharply defined. Encrustation and minor glaze erosion are natural burial ageing marks. Rust‑brown soil stains on base are genuine excavation traces, no acid washing or artificial modification. Provenance: Former private collection of an ancient‑ceramic collector based in Wyoming, USA. Acquired at Kuala Lumpur Asian Antique Art Fair in 2014, kept within one family for more than thirty years. It was only shown in private themed exhibitions of Song yingqing porcelain and has never appeared in public auctions.description:This delicate small gourd‑form vase is a fine miniature work from Jingdezhen Hutian kiln of Song dynasty, served as scholar‑studio incense holder or tiny flower receptacle. It is shaped as double‑gourd silhouette fitted with an original flower‑form lid. The whole surface is decorated with three‑dimensional molded overlapping lotus petals. Yellowish burial dirt has settled within gaps between petals. The vessel is covered in iconic Hutian yingqing glaze with soft pale turquoise tone. The foot shows fine white porcelain body stained by natural iron‑rust deposits from underground burial. Lotus motif symbolizes purity in Song culture. Moulded relief yingqing wares were technically demanding to produce. Surviving complete examples keeping original lids are quite uncommon today. This dainty object perfectly embodies the refined aesthetic of Song‑period Jingdezhen craftsmanship, great for cabinet display and collection. It is highly appreciated by ancient porcelain collectors from Wyoming, California and Hong Kong.
