It is shaped with eight petal‑lobed rim, forming elegant undulating outline, paired with shallow bowl body and substantial ring foot. Both interior and exterior are covered by deep glossy black‑brown glaze dotted with countless fine golden‑brown crystalline speckles. A warm brown edge appears along rim where glaze thins out, adding subtle visual layers. The unglazed foot reveals off‑white porous clay with crisp wheel‑throwing striations, typical of Jizhou kiln production. Jizhou black‑glazed porcelains represent outstanding folk craftsmanship. This piece boasts graceful silhouette and antique subdued luster, faithfully preserving original firing characteristics of southern Song kilns. It delivers great decorative appeal as well as academic specimen value, highly admired by collectors of Song black‑glazed ceramics from Georgia, New York and Hong Kong.
