Dimensions:Mouth diameter 10cm(3.94in),overall height 6.5cm(2.56in),13th‑14th Century CECondition & Provenance:The censer is fully intact without cracks, chips or modern restoration. It is covered in smooth even pale celadon glaze with natural soil‑related aging traces on the rim. Both chi‑dragon handles are well preserved.A natural kiln‑fired rust‑red band runs along the exposed foot ring with dry ancient clay texture.Only minor superficial glaze wear on the rim exists from antique usage without penetrating the ceramic body. This piece originates from a private Song‑Yuan celadon collection in Chicago,Illinois,USA.The collector acquired it from a Hong Kong antique dealer in the 1990s and it has been preserved in constant‑temperature dark private storage,as a fine Yuan Longquan scholar‑studio incense object.Description:This censer draws inspiration from Shang‑Zhou bronze gui ritual vessels, produced by Longquan Kiln in Yuan China. It features slightly flared rim, short neck, plump drooping belly and low ring foot, accompanied by a pair of open‑work chi‑dragon handles symmetrically placed on both sides. Both interior and exterior are fully covered with Longquan’s signature thick pale celadon glaze, delivering soft mild jade‑like tone and restrained luster.Thinned rim glaze shows faint earth‑toned aged patina.Neatly trimmed foot ring bears native firing rust‑red discoloration typical of Longquan high‑temperature firing technology. The inner cavity is fully glazed with tidy trimming and complete base glaze coverage.Gui‑style censers imitating ancient bronze ritual bronzes were very popular scholar‑studio furnishings for incense burning and display during Song‑Yuan periods. This vessel inherits the charm of archaic bronze and reinterprets it in celadon ceramic form, with full rounded body and vividly shaped handles. All original firing and age‑related marks remain untouched. It carries ritual connotation, practical incense function and display‑collecting value, qualifying as museum‑quality small‑format celadon treasure.
