Dimensions:Mouth diameter 8.1cm(3.19in),overall height 4.5cm(1.77in),10th‑13th Century CECondition & Provenance:The washer is fully intact without cracks,chips or modern restorations.It is covered in soft warm white glaze with faint natural earth‑toned patina accumulated over centuries.The exterior mould‑impressed woven‑basket texture remains crisp and well‑defined.The woven pattern on the base outer side is fully preserved.Only faint superficial rim wear exists from ancient usage without penetrating the ceramic body.This piece originates from a private ancient‑ceramic collection in Cleveland,Ohio,USA.The collector acquired it from a Hong Kong antique gallery in the 1990s and it has been kept in constant‑temperature dark private storage as a fine Song Ding‑yao scholar‑studio treasure.Description:This deep‑bowl‑shaped washer was crafted for literati brush‑washing in Song‑period Ding kiln workshops.It features a thick broad rim and smoothly curved deep body with compact stout proportions.The inner cavity is plain and sleek,while the outer wall is fully decorated with mould‑impressed simulated bamboo‑weave basket texture with neatly arranged lines reproducing real‑life bamboo‑basket surface with delicate craftsmanship.The whole vessel is coated in warm ivory‑toned white glaze with fine soft texture.Thinning glaze on rim bears subtle aged discoloration.The outer base is also covered by woven mould‑pattern,representing fine Song‑dynasty mould‑printing technology.Besides common carved and incised Ding wares,such bionic woven‑texture studio washers are relatively rare.The potters transferred folk bamboo‑craft aesthetics onto porcelain surface,showcasing sophisticated Song literati taste.This well‑preserved specimen has well‑balanced form and sharp intact mould‑impressed patterns.All original firing and age‑related traces are retained.It stands as a charming museum‑grade small Song‑dynasty scholar‑studio treasure.
