Dimensions:Overall Height 52cm(20.47in),18th Century CECondition & Provenance:The vase is fully intact with no cracks, chips or restored glaze. The whole surface features naturally fine aged crackles within the red flambe glaze, authentic patina from long-term inheritance. The sculpted deer head handles on both sides are fully preserved with intact antler and facial details;off-white glaze streaks on deer heads formed by natural glaze flow are well-layered.The foot rim displays antique glaze wear from handling, the six-character blue underglaze seal mark of Qianlong reign on white base is crisp and legible with only tiny natural kiln specks on base glaze. This vessel is from a private collection specializing in Qing porcelain based in Dallas,Texas,USA.The collector won this vase at an Asian antique auction house in London back in 2011 and preserved it in climate-controlled dark storage ever since.Large imperial Qianlong Langyao red deer head vases are extremely scarce across global antique markets.Description:This monumental vase is a classic imperial display treasure from the Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty. The form is stately and well-proportioned with a slightly narrow straight mouth, short tapered neck, full rounded bulbous body and tapered foot ring.A pair of three-dimensional sculpted deer heads serve as symmetric handles on the shoulder-neck junction. The antlers and facial features of deer are carved vividly and delicately;glaze thinning along ears and snouts reveals creamy off-white blended glaze streaks with rich layered texture. The entire vase is covered in premium Langyao copper red flambe glaze with deep saturated crimson tone interspersed with fine ox-hair silk streaks and uniform natural crackles all over the glossy lustrous glaze surface.Red glaze naturally flows down the body with faint pale off-white edge at the rim,a signature feature of authentic Langyao red wares. The base is coated with clean white glaze, centered with standard three-line six-character underglaze blue seal script mark “Da Qing Qian Long Nian Zhi” with steady blue pigment and neat calligraphy. The deer head vase carries homophonic symbolism of “fortune and rank”,paired deer motifs represent complete blessings and prosperity, ranked as core hall display porcelain in Qing imperial palaces. It combines top-tier high-temperature copper red firing craft with auspicious cultural symbolism. The oversized dignified shape demands extremely high firing skill to achieve uniform flawless red glaze.Museum-grade intact large Qianlong imperial Langyao red deer head vases carry outstanding artistic, historical research and collectible value.
