The whole body is covered with consistent, thick Langyao red glaze. Only one tiny minor glaze chip on the bulbous belly is an original firing flaw with no post-production damage. The classic white rim line and creamy foot protection glaze remain fully preserved. The six-character blue underglaze mark Da Qing Kang Xi Nian Zhi is neatly inscribed with steady blue tone on clean white base glaze. This vessel was part of a private antique porcelain collection based in Dallas,Texas,USA, acquired from a long-established Oriental antique gallery in London back in 2019. Large-sized imperial Langyao red wares from Qing court are extremely scarce on the market. This vase boasts grand proportion, pure red glaze and authentic reign mark, delivering great value for museum collection, luxury interior display and long-term investment.Description:This large pear-shaped vase is a master monochrome imperial porcelain crafted during Kangxi reign of Qing Dynasty, representing the pinnacle high-temperature copper red glaze technique of Qing official kilns. It adopts a classic pear silhouette with tiny straight mouth and an exceptionally tall, slender neck gently tapering down to a huge, plump spherical belly, finished with a slightly flared ring foot. The overall contour is elegant and grand; at 40.5cm tall, its large scale is rarely seen among surviving Langyao red pieces. The entire exterior is enveloped in rich gemstone crimson Langyao red glaze with thick, velvety texture and subtle natural orange peel surface luster. It perfectly embodies three iconic Langyao traits: white exposed rim from downward glaze flow, deeper red pooling near the foot, and glaze stopping cleanly above the foot without dripping over. The inner cavity is coated with pure glossy white glaze. A band of creamy beige protective clay glaze circles the outer foot wall, while the base bears a six-character underglaze blue Kangxi reign mark enclosed within double blue circles. The calligraphy is formal and authentic, matched with classic Kangxi cobalt blue hue. Producing Langyao red was one of the most challenging ceramic crafts in ancient China, as copper red pigment reacts drastically to kiln temperature and oxygen levels. Large vases frequently suffer from uneven glaze, excessive dripping or firing cracks, making flawless big specimens extraordinarily rare. This pear vase retains all original imperial craftsmanship features with flawless glaze, proportional shape and authentic mark, standing as a benchmark example of Qing monochrome porcelain. It is ideal for museum special exhibitions, top-tier imperial porcelain private collections and high-end residential or club interior decoration.
