Dimensions:Overall Width 10.5cm(4.13in),Overall Height 7cm(2.76in),13‑14th century Yuan Qingbai ceramicCondition & Provenance:The stem cup is fully intact without cracks. The chilong handle, floral rim and stem foot are completely preserved. Original Yingqing glaze remains intact; beaded rim details, interior moulded flower and bead‑line patterns stay distinct. The unglazed stem base shows coarse clay with iron‑rust discoloration and burial soil patina. No repair, secondary glazing or grinding. This piece belonged to a private Yuan‑porcelain collector based in Seattle,Washington, acquired from an antique gallery in Jakarta in 2017. Surviving Yuan stem cups with three‑dimensional chilong handle are relatively uncommon. Its distinctive form carries great artistic and archaeological specimen value.Description:This stem cup is a distinctive drinking and display ware from Hutian‑related kilns of Yuan dynasty, showcasing Yuan‑era techniques of sculpting, mould‑impressing and lobed rim forming. The opening is multi‑lobed floral shape decorated with continuous beaded fringe along the rim. The cup body is divided into melon‑shape segments. A fully sculpted chilong forms the side handle, its head peeking over the rim while its curved body serves as grip with vivid creature expression. It sits on a splayed hollow stem foot, a typical Yuan‑dynasty stem‑cup base construction. The interior is partitioned by raised bead lines, centering on a small mould‑stamped flower motif with thoughtful layout. Both interior and exterior are covered in soft pale bluish‑white Yingqing celadon glaze. Faint yellow‑brown burial stains can be seen on several glaze areas. The stem foot is unglazed, revealing rough wheel‑trimmed clay with heavy iron‑rust discoloration, retaining untouched original excavation patina. Compared with Song Qingbai wares, Yuan Qingbai favors bold three‑dimensional sculptural decoration. This chilong‑handle lobed stem cup merges biomorphic styling with functional vessel design and abundant craft details. It stands as a representative work of Hutian‑group Yuan porcelain, well‑suited for specialized antique‑ceramic collections and museum display.
