Dimensions:Mouth Diameter 8.5cm(3.35in),Overall Height 8.2cm(3.23in),19th century Guangxu period tea‑ware ceramicCondition & Provenance:The bowl and its original matching lid survive as a complete set, free of cracks, chips and enamel loss. The famille‑rose pigments retain rich layered tones for peaches and foliage. Only minor natural creamy‑yellow aging patina appears on exposed unglazed surfaces of lid knob and foot ring. No repainting, over‑enamel or restoration. This piece belonged to a private Qing porcelain collector based in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania,USA, acquired from an Oriental antique gallery in London back in 2016. Complete Guangxu‑marked famille‑rose peach‑pattern covered tea bowls are relatively scarce on the market. Its fine painting and auspicious motif make it a fine representative late‑Qing tea‑ware collectible.Description:This covered tea bowl is a fine example of Guangxu‑era famille‑rose tea vessel, following the classic three‑part gaiwan form popular in late Qing China. It features flared rim, gently curved tapering body and short circular foot, paired with domed original lid with small practical knob, the lid fits snugly upon the bowl rim. Both exterior bowl wall and lid are fully painted with auspicious peach‑tree motif. Gnarled twisting branches bear plump ripe peaches rendered with gradient famille‑rose shading shifting from deep crimson to pale pink‑white for strong three‑dimensional effect. Vivid turquoise‑green peach leaves, pink flower buds and pale yellow accent blossoms intersperse the branches, with meticulously drawn vein details delivering soft multi‑tonal color palette. The bowl interior is covered with plain lustrous clean white glaze. The foot ring shows pale creamy‑yellow unglazed body, base bears six‑character iron‑red regular script mark Da Qing Guang Xu Nian Zhi in neat calligraphy characteristic of Guangxu official‑style wares. Peach motifs symbolize longevity and blessing, a highly beloved auspicious theme both in imperial court and civilian society of Qing dynasty. This gaiwan boasts fine white porcelain body, smooth glossy glaze and well‑executed detailed painting. It balances practical tea‑drinking function and ornamental collection value, ideal for late‑Qing porcelain special collections, tea‑ware display and traditional Chinese tea‑space decor.
