Dimensions:Overall Height 14.7cm(5.79in),13-14th century Yuan Dynasty Longquan celadon wareCondition & Provenance:The whole vessel is fully intact with no cracks, chips or restorations. Natural fine crackle glaze spreads uniformly across the surface, formed naturally over centuries by thermal expansion and contraction of celadon glaze. Pale rusty orange firing clay oxidation remains intact on the exposed foot tips, and a thin natural tan kiln line lines the rim, original firing features with no later polishing, re-glazing or artificial aging. The base ring is neatly trimmed, covered by smooth even glaze with tiny dark mineral specks naturally created during kiln firing. This censer originates from a private ancient Chinese porcelain collector based in Hong Kong, acquired from a reputable antique ceramic gallery in Jakarta in 2017. Undamaged complete three-legged Longquan incense burners from the Yuan Dynasty are desirable collectibles; this flawless specimen with pure glaze and natural crackle serves as a standard reference piece for Longquan celadon studio incense wares.Description:This elegant small incense censer is thickly glazed celadon ceramic crafted at the renowned Longquan kilns during China’s Yuan Dynasty, designed for scholar desk aromatherapy and Buddhist ritual burning. Standing 14.7 centimeters tall, the vessel features a gently flared wide rim edged with a subtle natural tan kiln discoloration and smooth soft contour lines. The pear-shaped belly curves downwards in a plump rounded silhouette without harsh angles, supported by three evenly spaced solid teardrop-shaped feet. The very tip of each foot exposes raw clay, showcasing the signature pale rust-red firing oxidation iconic to authentic Longquan wares. The interior and exterior are fully coated in a thick, creamy pea-green celadon glaze with soft muted luster. The entire surface is covered in natural interwoven fine ice crackle fissures of varying depth, developed naturally over hundreds of years to create layered antique texture. The base is neatly trimmed into a smooth circular concave center, fully glazed except for the three tiny foot contact points, a classic base trimming technique of Yuan civilian Longquan kilns. Yuan Longquan ceramics inherited the thick glaze firing technology from Southern Song Dynasty workshops, prioritizing soft muted green glaze and minimalist sculptural form instead of intricate decorative patterns, matching the subtle, restrained aesthetic favored by Yuan literati scholars. Compact desk-friendly sizing paired with flawless unaltered condition, original crackle glaze, firing rust patina and authentic kiln glaze traits are fully preserved on this piece. It fully demonstrates every core production step of Yuan Longquan kilns including clay trimming, glazing and high-temperature firing. It carries dual value as a functional antique incense tool and a key artifact for ceramic history research, perfectly suited for specialized ancient celadon collections and permanent private museum display.
