拍品描述

Dimensions: Rim Diameter 13cm (5.12in), Height 6.5cm (2.56in), 13th to 14th CenturyCondition & Provenance: The bowl is fully intact, free of cracks, chips, glaze flaking and restoration. Natural age‑related crackle spreads all over interior and exterior. The rim bears subtle ancient soil patina. The unglazed foot ring shows natural rust‑red firing discoloration. The glaze remains smooth with light wear from long‑term usage, no modern artificial aging treatment. This piece was once owned by a private ancient‑ceramics collector in Hong Kong, China, and transferred to a private ancient‑ceramic collection in Richmond, Virginia, USA in 2011, before being released onto the market in 2025. Well‑preserved Song‑period Longquan pink‑celadon tea bowls are relatively scarce, and fine authentic examples like this do not circulate frequently in North American collecting circles.Description: This is a classic Song‑dynasty Longquan kiln tea bowl in the popular wide‑brimmed “doushan” or bamboo‑hat form. It features flared opening, steep sloping walls tapering smoothly toward a small neatly trimmed foot ring, delivering clean elegant silhouette. Both interior and exterior are covered with thick even pink‑celadon glaze, soft and mellow, showing the signature subtle pastel‑green tone of Longquan ware. Original natural crackle runs across the whole surface with well‑balanced distribution, formed by thermal stress during centuries, creating timeless antique visual effect. Glaze thins slightly along the rim with faint earth‑buried patina. The foot ring is unglazed with solid ceramic body, naturally formed rust‑red firing stain along foot edge, displaying typical trimming craftsmanship of Song Longquan kilns. The bamboo‑hat‑shaped tea bowl was a mainstream tea‑drinking vessel in Song China. This specimen boasts well‑proportioned shape, pure glaze tone and authentic crackle, fully preserving firing, glazing and foot‑trimming characteristics of southern Song celadon. It serves as an important reference artifact for academic research on southern Chinese celadon and Song tea culture. It fits elite specialized high‑ancient‑porcelain collections and qualifies for long‑term museum exhibitions themed on Song‑dynasty celadon, carrying great archaeological value for ancient ceramics, profound celadon aesthetic merit and research significance for Song‑period tea custom.
