This piece was once in the collection of an ancient‑ceramics collector in Hong Kong, China. It entered a private ancient‑ceramic collection in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA in 2012 and was released to the market in 2026. Well‑preserved Yuan Longquan pink‑celadon washers with pure glaze are limited in existence, and fine authentic examples like this do not appear frequently in North American antique markets.Description: This is a classic folded‑rim washer from the Longquan kilns of the Yuan Dynasty. It features wide flared folded rim, gently curved shallow walls tapering toward a thick substantial foot ring, presenting stately shape with simple soft outlines. The whole interior and exterior are covered with thick pink‑celadon glaze, delivering even soft jade‑like green tone with glossy restrained surface and fine subtle crackle. The inner basin is plain without decoration, reflecting the minimalist literati aesthetic popular across Song and Yuan periods. The foot ring is neatly trimmed, and natural rust‑red firing stain develops along the unglazed edge, sitting atop dense well‑fired ceramic body, representing typical foot‑trimming and firing traits of Yuan Longquan ware. This type of folded‑rim washer functioned both as a scholar’s brush washer and a household serving vessel in Yuan times. This specimen boasts pure glaze and well‑proportioned form, fully preserving glazing, trimming and firing techniques of Yuan Longquan celadon. It stands as a representative artifact of southern Chinese Yuan‑dynasty celadon. It fits elite specialized private ancient‑porcelain collections and qualifies for long‑term museum exhibitions themed on Yuan‑period celadon, carrying archaeological dating value for ancient ceramics, celadon aesthetic appreciation value and historical research value for Song‑Yuan scholar‑studio implements.
