拍品描述
Dimensions: Rim Diameter 12.9cm (5.08in), Height 7.2cm (2.83in), 12th to 13th CenturyCondition & Provenance: The bowl is largely intact, free of penetrating cracks, large chips and later restoration. The hare‑fur glaze inside and out is fully developed. The rim shows ancient mature condition, and unglazed foot bears natural earth patina from antiquity. Only faint age‑related wear marks are visible on glaze surface, no modern re‑firing or artificial staining. This specimen was once collected by a private ancient‑porcelain collector in Hong Kong, China, and transferred to a private ancient‑ceramic collection in Miami, Florida, USA in 2014, and released onto the antique market in 2026. Well‑preserved Jian ware bowls with distinct golden hare‑fur streaks are quite scarce, and high‑grade authentic examples like this seldom circulate in North American collecting circles.Description: This is a classic shukou‑style tea bowl made at the Jian kilns of Song China. The rim flares slightly outward with a distinct constriction line right below the lip; walls taper downwards toward a solid short foot ring, presenting robust well‑balanced silhouette, the canonical shape for Song‑dynasty tea‑whisking competitions. Thick black glaze covers the whole bowl surface, overlaid with dense radiating golden‑brown hare‑fur streaks fanning outward from center toward rim. Sharp contrast exists between black background and golden flowing hair‑like patterns. Glaze thins along the rim, producing warm russet‑brown tone. The body is typical heavy iron‑rich coarse clay of Jian ware. The base foot is cleanly trimmed, showing dry sandy clay with characteristic cutting marks of Song Jian kiln production. Jian hare‑fur tea bowls were the dominant tea utensil for Song dynasty tea contests. This piece features rich thick glaze, freely flowing hare‑fur patterns and standard authentic shape, fully preserving glazing formula, application, firing and foot‑trimming technical traits of Song Jian ware. It serves as a vital reference artifact for studying Fujian kiln industry and Song tea‑whisking culture. It fits elite specialized private high‑ancient‑porcelain collections and qualifies for long‑term museum exhibitions themed on Song‑period tea wares, carrying archaeological dating value for ancient ceramics, black‑glaze aesthetic merit and historical research significance for Song‑dynasty tea customs.
