拍品描述

Dimensions: Rim Diameter 11cm (4.33in), Height 9cm (3.54in), 13th to 14th CenturyCondition & Provenance: The censer is overall intact, free of penetrating cracks, chips and post‑production restoration. Natural ancient crackle spreads across the whole glaze. Three original incense‑vent holes are preserved inside the chamber. Unglazed foot ends bear aged earth patina. Faint age‑related wear, minor kiln specks and earth stains are visible, without modern artificial aging or staining. This piece was once held by a Hong‑Kong‑based ancient‑porcelain collector, then entered a private ancient‑ceramic specialized collection in Chicago, Illinois, USA in 2013, and released to the antique market in 2026. Fully preserved Song‑Yuan bluish‑white li‑style censers are not abundant, and fine authentic examples like this circulate infrequently within North American antique communities.Description: This is a bluish‑white‑glazed tripod censer of Song‑Yuan period, modelled after ancient bronze li ritual vessel. It features broad flared folded rim, contracted neck, bulbous body with three vertical raised ribs, supported by three sturdy solid legs. The belly connects to the legs, with three pre‑drilled incense‑vent holes inside the cavity for practical incense burning. The whole surface is covered with soft bluish‑white glaze with faint greyish undertone, accompanied by well‑distributed natural age crackle. Feet bases are unglazed with dry clay texture and ancient soil patina; unrefined trimming represents typical craftsmanship of southern Chinese kilns in Song‑Yuan times. Li‑style censers served as popular household incense burners for worship and daily aroma use. This specimen carries primitive functional structure and archaic silhouette, fully preserving glazing, shaping, hole‑drilling and foot‑trimming techniques of Song‑Yuan bluish‑white porcelain. It acts as a key reference artifact for studying folk incense custom and southern kiln production. It fits elite private high‑ancient‑porcelain collections and qualifies for long‑term museum exhibitions focused on medieval Chinese incense utensils, delivering archaeological dating value for ancient ceramics, folk‑art aesthetic merit and historical research significance for traditional Chinese incense culture.
