Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1990s.Description:This is a fine Song‑dynasty celadon incense burner modeled after ancient Chinese bronze ding ritual vessel, an elegant scholarly incense tool from Southern Song period. It features wide open mouth paired with two tall upright pierced flaring ears at the rim, short neck, full globular body accented by one raised horizontal band, supported by three elegantly curved animal‑form tripod legs with balanced and stable proportion. The entire piece is covered with soft thick powder‑blue celadon glaze, densely covered with naturally developed crackle network. Fine amber‑brown staining fills the crackle lines, creating classic golden thread effect. Glaze covers both interior cavity and exterior surface, even spreading onto base area. Exposed base reveals light‑brown well‑fired stoneware body typical for Longquan ware. This censer perfectly reflects the sophisticated antiquarian taste of Song literati, ideal for incense burning and display. Surviving in great original state, it represents a high‑quality collector‑grade old Chinese celadon artifact.
