Crafted in classic conical form, it features wide open rim with thin delicate edge, walls sloping smoothly down to small neatly trimmed foot ring, delivering graceful and elegant silhouette. The vessel is fully covered by soft pale lake‑blue Yingqing glaze, translucent and jade‑like, glaze layer evenly distributed across whole body. Interior surface is fully decorated with finely carved intertwined lotus scrolls using fine comb‑carving technique. Multiple lotus blossoms and foliage spread outward from center, petals and vein details rendered sharply. Glaze accumulates within carved grooves, bringing patterns out via subtle color contrast, this is signature decorative skill of Hutian ware. Exterior is kept plain to fully showcase the jade‑toned glaze quality. Foot ring is well trimmed, base displays characteristic brownish kiln firing discoloration from original firing support, body is fine white thin porcelain which shows slight translucency against light, demonstrating extraordinary porcelain‑making craftsmanship of Song Hutian kiln. Yingqing porcelains were widely cherished during Song era. This large‑size bowl retains crisp carving and wonderful original glaze, its surviving condition is quite desirable. It perfectly embodies subtle elegant Song aesthetic, holding great artistic and collectible merit.
