The whole piece adopts four-lobed begonia floral silhouette; the flared rim features undulating petal edges, vertical raised ribs divide the body into four curved melon segments, symmetrical contours run from top to bottom, paired with matching flower-shaped base foot. Soft, smooth lines fully reflect the minimalist elegant aesthetic of the Song Dynasty. The entire surface is covered in thick, creamy beige Ge glaze, saturated and silky in texture. Dense interwoven crackle spreads all over interior and exterior walls, fine pale golden cracks interlace with thick dark black iron cracks, naturally stained with aged earth tone inside fissures, delivering profound antique texture. Thin glaze on the rim reveals dark underlying clay, while unglazed base edge displays deep brown iron color, perfectly presenting the iconic “purple rim, iron foot” hallmark of authentic Ge ware. Glaze evenly covers inner and outer surfaces, the thick compact clay body delivers solid weight when held. Intact Song Ge Kiln display vessels are extremely scarce on the antique market, and begonia floral forms are far rarer than standard round or square gu vases. This specimen boasts standard authentic shape, naturally aged crackle and flawless condition, fully retaining all core firing techniques of Song Ge ware. It serves as a pivotal reference artifact for academic research on glaze, crackle patterns and vessel forms of China’s Five Great Song Imperial Kilns, a top-tier collectible for museum-grade antique ceramic collections and traditional Chinese interior decoration, holding extraordinary academic research value and strong long-term market appreciation potential for rare Song official porcelain.
