Dimensions:Overall height 23 cm (9.1 in), mouth diameter 4 cm (1.6 in), 10th‑13th Century CECondition & Provenance:The prunus vase is structurally complete, without cracks, chips or restoration. The translucent yingqing glaze remains well‑preserved with natural age‑related fine crazing. Mould‑pressed interlocking floral motifs are distinct and three‑dimensional. Unglazed base shows dry aged clay with genuine burial soil encrustation. Only minor wear at rim and lower body from underground burial. Unearthed in southern China, this Song yingqing vase was formerly in a private pre‑Yuan porcelain collection in Hong Kong. It remains within Hong‑Kong private hands in 2026. Full provenance documents and professional ancient‑ceramic appraisal reports are available.Description:This mould‑decorated yingqing prunus vase is a representative wine‑storage and display artifact from Jingdezhen Hutian kiln of Song China. It adopts canonical prunus‑vase form: small mouth, neck decorated with raised horizontal rings, full shoulder, elongated tapering body and flat ring foot. The silhouette is full, dignified and gently contoured. The whole piece is covered with soft lake‑toned yingqing glaze of bluish‑white hue, featuring natural crackled glaze surface. The entire exterior is densely ornamented with mould‑impressed scrolling interlocking flowers. Large blossoms interweave with winding foliage in a rich continuous composition, showing excellent Song‑period mould‑pressing craftsmanship. The unglazed base reveals fine dry ceramic paste bearing natural burial stains and production marks. Prunus vases served primarily as wine containers while also functioning as interior decorations in Song times. Surviving Hutian‑kiln mould‑impressed prunus vases are not common on global antique market. This well‑proportioned example retains crisp impressed patterns and attractive original glaze. It perfectly reflects the high standard of southern‑China ceramic forming and decorative techniques during Song dynasty. Serving as key material evidence for studying Song‑era Jingdezhen craftsmanship and folk daily culture, it is highly valued among pre‑Yuan porcelain collectors worldwide, offering great aesthetic display quality and solid collectible value.
