拍品描述

Dimensions:Overall height 41 cm (16.1 in), mouth width 14.7 cm (5.8 in), Qing Dynasty (17th–18th Century CE)Condition & Provenance:The vase is fully intact with no cracks, chips, glaze flaking or restorations. The crackle texture across the glaze is original and naturally formed during firing, and the thin white straw rim at the mouth is even and unbroken. The red glaze displays natural vertical flowing gradient, the kiln red protective slip around the foot is aged and mellow, and the six-character underglaze blue base mark remains crisp without wear. Categorized as imperial monochrome porcelain of the Qing dynasty, this vessel was exported overseas generations ago and held in a long-term private collection of Asian antiques based in San Francisco, California, USA. It comes with original antique gallery acquisition receipts and professional ceramic appraisal documents, with no altered marks, repainted glaze or cut-down base modifications.Description:This large Guanyin Zun vase with Da Qing Kang Xi Nian Zhi mark stands as an important imperial copper red masterpiece from the Kangxi kilns. The Guanyin Zun is an iconic decorative porcelain shape of the Qing era with distinct layered proportions: a wide flared rim edged with the signature thin white straw line, a slender tapering neck blending smoothly into a full rounded midsection, a tapered lower belly, and a flared stable foot ring. The silhouette is balanced, tall and elegant with solemn refined lines. The entire interior and exterior are covered in premium high-firing Langyao red copper glaze, covered with fine natural aged hair crackle all over the surface. The glaze flows vertically downwards as it fires, creating a distinct color gradient: bright gem crimson red covers the upper body, darkening into deep maroon near the foot, perfectly embodying the three classic Langyao traits: white rim top, thick dark glaze at foot, and no excess glaze dripping over the base. Producing authentic Langyao red required extreme precision over kiln temperature and copper oxide ratios, with extremely low successful firing rates, spawning the ancient saying “One kiln of Langyao red can ruin a craftsman’s fortune”, making large undamaged surviving specimens extremely rare. The outer foot rim is wrapped in antique yellowish-brown protective kiln slip, built on dense solid porcelain clay. The center white glaze base bears a six-character regular script mark Da Qing Kang Xi Nian Zhi painted in calm muted underglaze blue with authentic ancient brushwork. The glaze holds soft subdued antique luster covered in gentle natural patina accumulated over centuries, free of heavy wear damage. Langyao red is the most celebrated single-color glaze of the Kangxi imperial kilns. This oversized Guanyin Zun boasts standard classic shape, vivid layered red glaze and complete original imperial mark, delivering tremendous academic research value for Chinese imperial ceramic craft, grand interior display appeal and elite antique collecting worth, ranking as a top-tier collectible among surviving Langyao red wares.
